We didn’t say the last word about Michel Vanlint. After a break of 20 years in Taiwan, he returned in 2002 to rejoin the Belgian pigeon-sport and many people asked themselves some questions. Would he be able to get an important position?
In very short time, he astonished the Belgian pigeon-world and because of his super results, they called him “Mister First National�?

The top of the pigeon-world all watched him powerless. The press was very interested in Michel and his pigeons �?many articles were written. They even produced a video film in which they followed him on his loft; the care-taking, the guidance, etc�?they could follow everything in detail. His system was even copied by some young fanciers, which succeeded.
« A good guidance » - «An eye for details » - «A good loft » - «Work by resistance» - but most of all GOOD PIGEONS! These are the base of everything and here for he created his own system. Very good basic pigeons, a lot of breeding and a very strong selection. The racing-team, which is played on total widowhood, have to race from the first till the last flight, they have to score well and not jus ton short or middle distance but every week they get in on races from 400 till and with Limoges National !
With their eyes and mouth wide open, they followed the results of his racing team « No pigeon can handle this system » «May be for one year but not longer » …�?. They didn’t believe the good results but they started to search for miracle bottles, …�? They even talked about looking in the garbage bags, the secrets of Taiwan…�?Several dope controls showed that they all were wrong. Here they work with good products: oil, vitamins, amino-acids�?. (COMED) good food (VERSELE-LAGA) and an optimal guidance. The last few years, Michel tries to guide his pigeons by the natural resistance. Not too many medicines but in guidance of his vet, Raf Herbots. Always trying to be one step ahead.

On the Semi-National race (Center & East) of June 19 2010 from MONTLUCON he got the victory with the old birds against 4493 pigeons! This was a hen of 2 years old, which already scored well and mother of 2 winners from Chateauroux. !!!
Here by we count 17: 17 National, Zonal, Semi-National victories. But it keeps going on:

In 2007, Michel received this hen of his friend Willem De Bruin and like all pigeons in the Bogaerdenstraat 33, Zoutleeuw, she had to follow the program.
This means: as a youngster she participated to all national races.
In her first year, she succeeded by 3 on 4 nationals and this always per 10: 481° National Argenton 20884 P. �?230° National La Souterraine 19058 p. and finally within the TOP 100 from Gueret; 71° NATIONAL GUERET 12586 p.
By these results, she earned her place among the yearling-team for 2008.
2008, another year of truth because now they had to leave every week regardless the weather conditions, the wind, the number of days in the basket, every week again they had to prove their capacities. And again, Mysterie Lady proved that she was able to follow the rhythm and the pressure. As a yearling, she succeeded with 3 x TOP 36 National, Semi-National: 7 NAT LA SOUTERRAINE 4660 p �?23 NATIONAL BOURGES 16771 p �?36 Center & East CHATEAUROUX 9035 p.
Astonishing with 22 races and +/- 10.000 km in one season!!!
Then 2009. Would she still be able to score because many fanciers talked about being “burned�?
Nevertheless, as a 2-year old hen, she scored near by 10.000 km per year and again: 3 x TOP 100 National: 24 NATIONAL ARGENTON 9901 p �?56 NATIONAL GUERET 2636 p �?96 NATIONAL BOURGES II 11756 p.
At the end of 2009, they published on a website the Best Old pigeon over Bourges I and II and Argenton over the period 2008-2009, counting over 5 flights and here the Mysterie Lady was the 2° Best of Belgium with a coëf. of 8,429. Super!!! These pigeons belong on the breeding loft, they earned the rest. But Michel Vanlint, who became 75 years this year, doesn’t know the word rest. As well to himself as his birds, he handles the same style of living, rest rust and the body should move as much as possible. So Michel and his wife Yu-Chin, always do the work themselves in and around the loft and I’m sure that many people of 40 or 50 years want be able to follow his rhythm.
But would she be able to this one more year longer, in 2010???? When we look at her results, she’s the living prove of the philosophy of the Vanlint family. Regardless the conditions, she went for it with her NATIONAL victory Zone C from La Souterraine against 2097 competitors, again she proved her great class. As a 4-year old, she has finished her racing career with a prize-list which we never saw before: 12 x TOP 100 NATIONAL !!!!!!! -

As a youngster: 1 x TOP 100 National, as a yearling: 3 x TOP 100, as a 2-year old 3 x TOP 100 national and now this 4-year old girl finished with 5 x TOP 100 !!!!!
Her counter almost reached 40.000 kilometers !!!!!!! Or 36 x BARCELONA in 4 years time!!!!
I’m sure we will find her ringnumber among the National Ace-pigeons Heavy Middle Distance KBDB and among the Olympic pigeons, representative for Belgium.
Where is the border???? How far can we go with our pigeons???? Always looking for the forbidden truth, here with Michel Vanlint, again a new mystery to be solved.
